Services  ·  Website Hosting & Care

Your site stays fast, secure, and up.

A website is not a finished object. Certificates expire, platforms update, plugins develop vulnerabilities, and backups turn out not to have been running. Care is the difference between a site that lasts and one that fails quietly.

In short

A monthly plan covering hosting, SSL, uptime monitoring, backups, security updates and content changes — so your site stays fast, online and current without you managing any of it.

The problem

How sites fail, in order of frequency.

The certificate expired

Every browser now shows a full-page security warning. It is a five-minute fix that costs you a day of enquiries because nobody was watching.

The backup was never running

Discovered at the exact moment it was needed. An untested backup is not a backup — it is an assumption.

An unpatched vulnerability

An out-of-date plugin or platform gets exploited, and the site starts serving spam or gets delisted from search.

Down, and nobody noticed

The site was offline for six hours overnight. There was no monitoring, so the first report came from a customer.

What we build

What care covers.

01

Managed hosting

Fast, appropriately provisioned hosting with a CDN, set up and maintained rather than left at defaults.

02

SSL and renewal

Certificates issued and renewed automatically, with expiry monitored independently so a failed renewal is caught before visitors see it.

03

Uptime monitoring

Checked continuously from outside your network, with alerts to a human when it fails rather than a dashboard nobody opens.

04

Tested backups

Automated, off-site, retained on a stated schedule — and periodically restored to prove they actually work.

05

Security patching

Platform, plugin and dependency updates applied on a regular cadence, tested before they go live.

06

Content updates

Text, image and page changes made for you within an agreed monthly allowance, so the site never goes stale.

How it works

From first call to running in production.

01  ·  Week 1

Take stock

Current hosting, certificates, backups, versions and vulnerabilities audited so you know the real starting state.

02  ·  Week 1–2

Migrate or harden

Moved to appropriate hosting if needed, or hardened where it is. Either way monitoring and backups are switched on first.

03  ·  Week 2

Verify the backup by restoring it

A backup is only proven by a restore, so we perform one. This is the step most plans skip and the one that matters on the worst day.

04  ·  Monthly

Run monthly

Patching, monitoring, backups, content updates and a short monthly report on what changed.

What you get

Included in every engagement.

  • Managed hosting with CDN
  • SSL issuance, renewal and independent expiry monitoring
  • External uptime monitoring with alerts to a person
  • Automated off-site backups on a stated retention schedule
  • Periodic restore tests, not just backup runs
  • Platform and dependency security patching
  • Monthly content update allowance
  • Short monthly report of what was changed and why

Fit

When this is the right call — and when it isn't.

A good fit if

  • Businesses without anyone technical in house
  • Sites where downtime directly costs enquiries
  • Anyone who does not know when their last backup was

Not the right call if

  • Companies with their own infrastructure team
  • Complex custom applications needing bespoke operations
  • Anyone wanting only hosting with no maintenance — plenty of cheaper options exist

Asked first

Website Hosting & Care, answered.

We already have hosting. Do we have to move?

Not necessarily. If your current hosting is adequate we can monitor and maintain in place. Migration is recommended only where the hosting itself is the problem.

What counts as a content update?

Text changes, image swaps, adding or editing pages, updating prices and details — within a monthly allowance agreed up front. New features or redesigns are separate work and quoted separately, so there are no surprise invoices.

How do we know the backups work?

Because we restore one. Backup jobs report success routinely while producing unusable archives, so a green job status is not evidence. A completed restore is.
